At Cremation.Green one of our core values is big-hearted care. Helping families through the death care process is a privilege that we take seriously. We understand that it’s a time when people are feeling the most vulnerable and experiencing a lot of emotions that can make arranging a funeral challenging.
In an effort to provide the best services possible for as many families in Texas as possible, we’ve built a network of reliable service providers that are equally caring. One of the most trusted resources in our network is Waterloo Mortuary. It’s a unique service provider that is working to ensure families all over Texas can find affordable funeral services that are respectful and dignified for the deceased.
What Sets Waterloo Mortuary Apart From Other Death Care Providers
Waterloo Mortuary stands out as the biggest crematory in Texas, but few Texans may have heard of them. That’s because Waterloo Mortuary often works with funeral directors rather than the family of the deceased. However, families in their local area can choose to work with Waterloo Mortuary to simplify the funeral planning process.
The crematory provides support that allows funeral homes throughout Texas to provide the highest quality services to those in their own community. Waterloo Mortuary takes on aspects of the cremation process so that the funeral home can focus its attention on assisting families and helping more people. They coordinate closely with the funeral homes they serve to ensure there are no delays and that the services provided to the family are executed flawlessly.
Waterloo Mortuary is fully licensed in Texas and is a member of the Cremation Association of North America (CANA), an international trade association that was established in 1913.
Services Provided by Waterloo Mortuary
Although Waterloo Mortuary works behind the scenes to provide support for funeral homes, they are also equipped to work directly with families as a full-service death care provider. Either way, their work does impact families in a very direct way.
That’s why Waterloo Mortuary strives to provide the highest quality services no matter who they are working with. They understand the services they provide to funeral homes impacts the family’s experience and the quality of care that funeral homes are able to give families. When working with families the crematory is mindful of the care and respect that’s needed for everyone involved.
At this time Waterloo Mortuary’s services include:
Transport
Transporting the body is a necessary death care service unless the family is going to transport the deceased themselves, which is legally possible. However, safe transport that’s respectful to the deceased requires proper handling and a vehicle that is adequately sized, both of which are available through Waterloo Mortuary.
Cold Storage
A cremation or burial doesn’t happen immediately after a death. For example, in Texas it will take at least two days before a cremation can occur. Texas law states that 48 hours must pass from the time of death to cremate. The only way to do a cremation sooner is if a Justice of the Peace or medical examiner waives the mandated waiting period. However, it is common for a funeral home to hold a body for 3-7 days. During the period between the death and the cremation cold storage is needed to safely store the remains.
Embalming
Embalming is not legally required in Texas, however, some families choose to embalm if they intend to have a viewing service prior to the cremation or burial. Waterloo Mortuary can support funeral homes by providing embalming services that are properly carried out in a safe manner. Opting for off-site embalming allows funeral homes to better protect their staff and focus their attention on customer-facing services and interactions.
Flame Cremation
As the largest crematory in the state of Texas, Waterloo Mortuary is fully equipped to handle direct cremation. What’s more, because of the size of the facility, Waterloo Mortuary is able to provide cremation services in an expedited manner or when other crematoriums are at capacity and the cremation would be otherwise delayed.
Memorial Services
Families that choose to have a memorial service can do so with the help of Waterloo Mortuary. Memorial services can be held at their property in Elgin, giving families a serene place to honor their loved one in peace without worrying about regulations or scattering limitations.
Waterloo Mortuary can provide a single service or all of the services above as needed throughout the process. Their ability to provide all of the necessary services for cremation eliminates the need to work with multiple providers, making the process easier to manage and more affordable.
