We are Texas’ only carbon-neutral funeral home; we use no paper, utilize electric-hybrid vehicles, and incorporate recycled material throughout the cremation process. Maralaena takes pride in providing high levels of compassion and care that families need. She treats every family with empathy and respect. She values transparency and strives to further the cause of eco-friendly deathcare. Her family values bring a personable connection that Green Cremation Texas celebrates.

Dan Shaeffer

Dan Shaeffer, dual licensed funeral director and embalmer for over 20 years, served families at funeral homes in Oklahoma and the Texas Panhandle before moving to the Austin area in 2017.

Dan holds the designation of Certified Funeral Service Practitioner from the Academy of Funeral of Professional Funeral Service. He is also a veteran of the United States Air Force.

McKayd LaRose has helped several families find peace of mind by taking care of their final arrangements in advance. In his own family, he has seen the hardship that comes from not having a plan in place. He had two uncles (both in their 40s) who passed away unexpectedly from a heart attack and a car accident. The pain that his family experienced was palpable, and he hopes to help you relieve the burdens on your loved ones for good.

Everything, including full costs, were disclosed on the front end. All arrangements were easy to make and they did exactly what they said they would do when they said they would do it. My daughter died VERY unexpectedly at 24 years old. So there i was trying to figure out what the heck just happened and the medical examiner wants to know if I've picked a funeral home yet. All i knew was that my daughter loved the environment so i started with Google and it led me to Melissa. I cannot stress enough how WONDERFUL this woman is. They sold me expensive urns, were not transparent with the prices and were not that sympathetic in our time of need.When my mom passed away, I was worried that I would have a similar experience and I did my research looking at reviews. Cremation Green had excellent reviews so I decided to use them. I had called around and they were the most pleasant and helpful on the phone of any of the other businesses.My mom passed away in my home And they came and were so professional and lovely to deal with. They made the process super easy with the website and when I needed help filling out forms, I texted them and they immediately responded. They were soft and kind, which is what you need during these hard moments. I paid for the UPS delivery and the mortuary Director actually came out personally to hand-deliver my mother. She was so lovely and sweet. This is erased my past bad memory of my father’s cremation. Appreciate them so much!

Absolutely awful experience. Would not recommend. Marlaena was so rude and unprofessional. My mother passed away, and collectively with hospice, we chose green cremation. I was asked by my sister to pick up my mother's remains. When I called to make sure my mother was ready to come home, Marlaena said she wasn't able to talk to me, nor would I be able to pick her up as my sister was the point of contact. I would basically need to call and ask permission to pick up my own mother. I asked my sister about it, and she assured me I was on the paperwork and should have been able to. When I called Marlaena back to ask her to go back and see if I had been listed , she said my mother had been picked up, and she was unable to assist me further and hung up on me. She was so awful and really just made an already difficult time so much worse. 💔

It was a Sunday afternoon, and I was sitting in the hospital with my dear husband who had just begun receiving hospice care. I was so grateful that finally, he was receiving comfort care and that he could rest comfortably and not deal with constant pain. All I wanted to do was sit with him, hold his hand and talk to him, and not think about funeral arrangements. The hospice worker was wonderful, and before leaving, provided me with a list of different funeral homes, but I only glanced at a few places online. Two hours later my husband passed away and I realized I had to make a decision, so I called Cremation Green, the only place I’d looked at online that had no negative reviews. It was a Sunday evening, but Marlaena Gonzales answered the phone herself, and immediately, not only eased my fears and anxiety but surprised me by not asking me to do a single thing. She was soft spoken, kind, and comforting, and only asked that I tell the nurse that I would be using Cremation Green for my husband’s arrangements. She explained that the hospital would provide all the necessary information and then Cremation Green would handle everything. She also said that I would receive a text the following day with a link to their website, and the forms that needed to be filled out, but that I could complete them when I felt up to it. She was amazing! There was no pressure to do anything immediately and certainly no pressure to purchase any goods or services. The Cremation Green website lists the services and products they offer and all the prices are clearly stated. You can put together the package you want, the cost is always exactly what is stated, and their pricing is very reasonable. Also, if your loved one is a Veteran, Cremation Green ensures that you get a beautiful, military-folded American flag. Everything is done online. I worried about that, as I’m a bit technologically challenged, but Marlaena was a simple phone call away, whenever I had a question. She ALWAYS answered the phone herself, and she patiently and kindly explained things. I was never put on hold, nor did I have to be subjected to options when I called. I can’t thank Cremation Green and Marlaena enough, for their courtesy, kindness and professionalism. I feel that the best compliment I can give them is to use them for my final arrangements, which I plan to do in the very near future.
