Sarah Lou Graham Wallis, born August 30, 1925, in Grand Prairie TX. Father and Mother Jess and Minnie Alma Mason Graham.
Departed this life on December 28, 2022, to be with her Lord and Savior.
Survivors: Children: Jim and wife Joanne of Granbury, Tx., Judy and husband David Gage of Pflugerville, and Jerry of Sydney, Australia; Grandchildren: Aimee (deceased February 4, 2013), Andrew Wallis, and wife Andrea of Granbury; Genny and husband Peter Ravella of Austin; Great grandchildren: Ellie and Taylor Buchanan and Samantha and Jamie Wallis; Siblings: Brother Jim and deceased Sisters Marie Smith and Ann Johnson and all of their families. Her church family at First Baptist Church of Pflugerville, sisters, and brothers in Christ in the Precious Memories Adult Class. Friends at Handcraft Unlimited in Georgetown, Cove at Heatherwilde in Pflugerville and Court at Round Rock in Round Rock.
Sarah attended school in Grand Prairie, graduating from high school in May of 1942. Sarah loved sports and played baseball, basketball, and volleyball in high school. She was on the speech team and sang in the school chorus. Her first job, besides being Soda Fountain Manager in local drug store was with the Texas and Pacific RR where she had to get a minors release before going to work at age seventeen. She finished her formal working years in the accounting department of IRS Regional Headquarters in Dallas with over 21 years’ service
Sarah was married to MSgt Albert Raymond Wallis who was stationed at Hensley Field Dallas TX on April 10, 1943. They had a very lively life in the military service, moving many times during World War II years. They were stationed in many stateside bases and were three years at Ramey AFB, Puerto Rico. She was a proud military wife who served her country by her tireless support of her family and their many friends in each assignment.
She became a member of the Order of Eastern Star in October 1943 serving in many offices including Worthy Matron of the Grand Prairie Chapter 219. She also had dual memberships of chapters in Azle, TX and Puerto Rico. Many of her interests included ceramics instructor at Carswell and Ramey AFB, instructor in knitting, quilting, crafts, and hand work at the different military bases all over the country
and in Mission, TX.
