Marilynn Inches Conner

Marilynn Inches Conner (79) of Bastrop, Texas went to be with her Lord on October 4, 2023. She was born December 30, 1943, in Minneapolis, Minnesota to Walter Stewart Inches and Elsie Agnes (Shoger) Inches. Marilynn was preceded in death by her parents, her husband Perry Conner, and her brother James Chesley Inches.  She is survived by her daughters Caroline Sterling Burdulis of Austin, Texas, and Leesha (David) Creech of Southlake, Texas as well as five grandchildren and three great grandchildren. Marilynn was known for her love of wildlife and nature and more specifically horses and dogs.  She may have single-handedly rescued almost every stray dog in the county. And her riding days with her horse, Corey, were her favorite. Marilynn also had a gift of making jewelry with a focus on turquoise necklaces. She worked as a Supervisor for the Houston Children’s Zoo, an assistant at a Wildlife Refuge Center, a Veterinarian Technician, and entrepreneur of her boutique dog grooming and boarding business.

Marilynn loved hiking and camping in the mountains and strolling along the shores of beaches. As a child, she loved to swim and trained for the Junior Olympics. She found solace in nature and enjoyed time with her friends. She had a kind, generous heart and was always willing to lend a helping hand to those in need. She will be deeply missed by all who knew her.

A Celebration of Life will be held on Saturday, November 11th at 1:00 pm. The event will be held at Miller Ranch, 149 Highline Dr, Bastrop, Texas. We are asking attendees to bring a picture of your pet or animal that Marilynn helped you to find or care for and-or wear a piece of jewelry that she made for you. Dress is casual as Marilynn would want it that way. Refreshments will be served. In lieu of flowers, we encourage a donation to Houston Area Doberman Rescue (https://www.hadr.org ) in her name.
