Obituary for Joshua David Reynolds
Birthplace: Austin, Texas
Resided In: Austin, Texas

Joshua David Reynolds, a most deeply beloved son, brother, partner, and friend, was born December 18, 1977 and left this world all too soon on September 27, 2020. A lifelong Austin resident, Joshua graduated from Anderson High School in 1995. Three years later he graduated from The University of Texas at Austin with honors and with recognition on the National Dean’s List, earning his degree from the School of Business.

Josh created a successful real estate marketing website, allaustin.com, that blazed the trail for on-line property searches in Texas. As an entrepreneur, he also started a property management firm, All Austin Realty, that continues to serve the greater Austin community.

Joshua’s greatest accomplishments are indelibly etched in the hearts and memories of his many wonderful friends and his loving and adoring family. He was known by all for his energetic happiness, bright and joyous wit, and the deep loyalty of his friendship. He was a world traveler and befriended people around the globe. He greatly enjoyed live music and traveled to venues in multiple states to enjoy uplifting music with friends and family. He loved to hike, bike, swim, ski, and explore the wonders of nature across the United States and in countries around the world.

Josh typically devoted much time and energy to fitness and health and always seemed to be ageless, vibrant, and full of glowing life. His beloved friends and family will always remember him that way.

The one personal item Joshua kept in his backpack of primary essentials was a note of praise and thanksgiving from his mother: “You are the gift of all the gods. You are the compassionate samurai. You are the one who tries always to find balance and clarity and reason with kindness, charity, and love. Thank you for being the incredible person you always are. You are so very deeply loved. Your Dad and I have been so blessed.”

Joshua left a written message that distilled his personal philosophy about life:

“Only think about your past enough to plan your future.
Only plan your future enough to enjoy your present.”

Joshua was preceded in his transition to the larger existence by his wonderfully caring father, John Reynolds. We have no doubt his father has ushered Joshua’s spirit into the light of Gods’ love.

Remaining to celebrate his life and mourn his untimely passing are his mother, Deborah Nance, sister Santa Nance, brother Jason Reynolds, niece Karina Mays, and nephew Christian Ramos, as well as aunts, uncles, and cousins too numerous to list. Joshua’s cherished partner of eight years, Laliko Khongrath, and her son whom Joshua loved as his own, Nathaniel Khongrath, join Joshua’s family in celebrating the joy he brought to us all. Only the gift of God’s grace can comfort us all in the loss of Joshua’s light in our worldly lives.

A memorial service is scheduled for celebration of Joshua’s life and sharing of memories by family and friends. All efforts will be made to use video and internet transmissions to share this celebration with loved ones who are unable to attend. It is the family’s fervent wish that all who are able to attend in person gather in a manner mindful of the health and safety of all participants. Please respect our wishes that all appropriate procedures be respected for use of masks, social distancing, and hygiene practices to ensure that no person is at risk of contracting any health threats.

Joshua’s Memorial Service will be held at Vuka Bouldin Creek Event Center at 411 West Monroe Street, Austin, Texas 78704 on Monday, November 2, 2020 from 5 to 8 p.m. Light refreshments will be provided; no alcohol please.
