Jerry Richard (Dick) Burch was born on July 20, 1942, in Wynnewood Oklahoma, to Richard and Nedra Burch. He was your typical midwestern young man growing up, playing football and basketball thru his high school days in Elk City, Oklahoma. He was in the ROTC program in college, and was soon drafted into the Army, doing his service in Vietnam, where he served as an artillery officer. Upon his return home he was in food sales for most of his life, retiring in the early 2000’s. His passions were golf, he would play as often as he could, always loving the challenge of a new course. He loved to tell jokes, no matter the situation, he had a joke to tell. He loved to make people laugh. He also loved cars, red cars, he owned many over the years. He was a true Oklahoma Sooners fan, attending many football games, hence the “OU red cars”.
Dick was most importantly a family man; he loved his family more than anything. His greatest joy was getting everyone together for a meal, especially during the holidays.
Dick was preceded in death by his parents, Richard and Nedra, nephew Richard Lunn Burch, his wife Evelyn, they had been married for 53 years, upon her passing in 2017, and several aunts, uncles, and cousins.
Dick is survived by his two sons, Richard Christian Burch, his wife Katrina Ann Burch of Austin, Tx. Austin Johns Burch, his wife Valerie Ann Burch of McKinney, Tx; sister Nedra Burch Gaynor of Oklahoma City; and three grandchildren, Katelyn Marie Burch, Alexis Christine Burch, and Christian Cole Burch
