In Loving Memory of Jerome H. Parker IV
February 21, 1950 – July 30, 2023
It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of Jerome H. Parker IV, who departed this life on July 30, 2023. Born on February 21, 1950, in his beloved Austin, Texas, Jerome was the son of Jerome H. Parker III and Jacquelyn Joy Patterson.
Jerome’s academic journey led him to the University of Texas, where he not only earned his Bachelor’s degree but also a Masters of Professional Accounting. His unwavering dedication to learning was matched only by his devout support for the Texas Longhorns, a passion he proudly shared with his son, Jerry.
Jerome’s journey extended far beyond the borders of Texas. He put his exceptional financial skills to use during his service in the Peace Corps, lending his expertise to communities in Albania and Afghanistan.
In addition to his financial pursuits, Jerome had a profound love for writing. His articles, featured in various publications including Austin Writer, showcased his talent and dedication to the written word.
While we mourn his loss, we take comfort in knowing that Jerome has been reunited with his parents, brother Christopher Wylie Parker and sister Shirley Parker who preceded him in death. He leaves behind his beloved son, Jerome Henry Parker V and wife Ann of Charlotte, NC. Jerome is also survived by three sisters, Mary Helen Parker Ruth and husband Jim of Austin, TX, Susan Alice Parker Goins and husband Joseph of Everett, WA and Lucy Parker Watkins of McKinney, TX, as well as numerous nephews and nieces.
A private family memorial will be held to honor Jerome’s life. Though he is no longer with us, his spirit lives on in the hearts of those he touched.
