Ismael “Mike” Hernandez, age 71, passed away peacefully on December 16, 2025, in Round Rock, Texas. He was born on October 6, 1954, in Plainview, Texas.
Mike was a devoted husband, father, and family man. He is survived by his loving wife, Ritha Hernandez; his sons, Amos Hernandez and Jason Hernandez; and his daughter, Priscilla Padron, six grandkids, and three great grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his beloved son, Eli Hernandez and granddaughter J’Lynn Hernandez.
Mike had a lifelong passion for cars and proudly worked in the automotive industry, including at Gene Messer Ford and Brunken Chevrolet. He also worked for many years at Plains CO-OP, where he was known for his dedication and strong work ethic. In addition, he shared a love of cooking—especially breakfast—and was instrumental in helping his wife establish Ritha’s Burritos, a venture that reflected his commitment to family and hard work.
A man of deep faith, Mike trusted in God and lived his life with kindness, generosity, and love. He cherished time spent with his immediate and extended family, always eager to be part of every gathering and activity. His welcoming spirit touched everyone he met, and he was truly loved and adored by all who knew him.
A small private ceremony will be held for immediate family. A memorial service in Lubbock, Texas, will be announced at a later date.
Mike’s memory will live on in the hearts of his family and friends, who will forever treasure his warmth, faith, and unwavering love.
