Era Peek Flowers

Era Peek Flowers passed away peacefully on February 2, 2024 in Wimberley, TX at the tender age of almost 90. She was born Era Marsetta Peek to Pauline Hancock Peek and Hubert Lee Brewer Peek in Tallassee, Alabama.

She married Marvin A. Flowers (father of their three daughters) in 1955 in Pensacola, Florida. They later divorced in 1974 where they lived in Biloxi, MS.

Era had a full adventurous life with varied careers. She spent her early adult years in the Food & Hospitality industry, hostessing and managing a variety of restaurants. She later received her Cosmetology certification and followed her passion of helping men and women achieve their full beauty! She worked for (also owned) salons in Louisiana and Texas. In 2003 she retired from her Houston owned salon to Pass Christian, MS where she bought a small pier and beam home 3 blocks from the gulf coast. Unfortunately it was not meant to be long term, hurricane Katrina (category 5) took aim at Pass Christian on August 23, 2005. She lost her home and all of her belongings as many other people did along the gulf coast. She moved back to Houston, TX where she lived in her Townhome until relocating to the TX Hill Country in 2022.

Era is survived by her daughter Wanda Flowers Dubaz (daughter in-law KayLynn Price) Canyon Lake, TX and her daughter Beverly Flowers Houston, TX. Her grandson William (Bill) Bryant (wife Katie Ouverson Bryant) NC, granddaughter Christina Bryant McManus (husband Wes McManus) and great grandson Ford McManus, MS. She is also survived by two brothers and a sister in Florida as well as many nieces and nephews/great nieces and nephews. She was preceded by her parents, 5 older siblings, her daughter Terrie Flowers Bryant and ex-husband Marvin Flowers.

No services are planned; her family will celebrate Era’s life privately.
