Claire Babineau, 94, of Sunrise Beach, Texas, passed away on
Tuesday, March 7, 2023
Born in Manchester, New Hampshire on June 15, 1928 Claire was the daughter of
George and Gertrude Beaudet. Claire was raised in Manchester and was Baptized
at Saint Edmund Catholic Church in Manchester and later received First Holy
Eucharist and was Confirmed at Saint Anthony of Padua also in Manchester. Claire
graduated high school from Manchester High School Central June 1946. Claire
Beaudet then attended Notre Dame De Lourdes Hospital School of Nursing and
graduated in 1949.
Claire met Francis Babineau of Concord, New Hampshire and was married on
November 17, 1951. She and her sweetheart Frank were married 59 years until
his death in 2010. Claire enjoyed a fulfilling career in nursing living in Claremont,
New Hampshire before retiring in 1990.
Claire is survived by her two children, Jane and Brent Nugent of Leesburg, Florida
and Drs. John and Lori Babineau of Austin, Texas; six grandchildren Ashlee
McNamara, Michael Nugent, Matthew Nugent, Johnathan Babineau, Carly Claire
Babineau and Sommerlyn Babineau and one great grandchild Corbin Mardanes.
Over the years, Claire had many hobbies and passions. She was an excellent cook
and kept her French Canadian heritage alive with making her favorite dishes for
family get togethers and holidays. Sewing, knitting and needle point were ongoing
throughout her life however for many years she developed a passion for rug
hooking. Later, gardening and “playing in the dirt” was what she looked forward
to doing.
A Catholic Funeral Mass will be held, at a date to be determined, at Saint Mary’s
Catholic Church in Claremont, N.H. with an interment ceremony to follow.
