Is it really ash?
No, it is bone. After cremation (flame or water) the bone is pulverized by a machine called a cremulator.

What happens to metal medical implants?
They are oftentimes recycled. Some remain after the cremation, and can be requested by the family.

How hot does it get?
1600° to 2200° in a flame retort. 220° in water cremation.

What happens to breast implants?
With flame cremation, they melt away. With water cremation, they look untouched.

Do they cremate more than one person at a time?
Absolutely not. Not even spouses, relatives, siblings.
