Suzanne Bowdoin LeTulle

03 / 31 / 1951 – 07 / 05 / 2024

Suzanne Bowdoin LeTulle, “Suzie” to some, passed away at the age of 73, following a nearly decade-long battle with cancer. Born and raised in Austin, she resided there and in surrounding areas for most of her life. In more recent years, she lived in Smithville, where she relished in being closer to her family.

Suzanne was a very studious and well-educated woman. While attending the University of Texas, she studied English and law. Afterward, she diligently continued her studies and became a licensed attorney, successfully achieving a position as a legal editor for the State Bar of Texas. Even in her later years, Suzanne remained studious and hardworking, dedicating herself to taking care of family affairs while researching classes and reading scholarly articles in her free time.

Throughout the many years dedicated to her educational and professional endeavors, Suzanne never betrayed her love for creating and enjoying art. Her home was covered in it, paintings hanging on every wall and tucked away in every corner; her studio full of half-finished projects that demonstrate her resolve to keep creating and growing as an artist. This love of art was something she tried to pass on to everyone she knew and loved, and dearly enjoyed sharing with her friends.

Every aspect of Suzanne’s life was deeply influenced by her fervent love for Jesus Christ, and her strong religious values. The majority of the paintings on her walls depicted angels or biblical scenes, and her shelves were full of cd’s that captured recorded sermons and hymnal music. She always maintained a profound faith in the Lord, carrying around bible verses and devotional books to help her through her medical appointments and cancer treatments.

Suzanne was a dedicated mother and grandmother, and carried a deep-rooted affection for her son James. James’ passing a year prior to her own was incredibly sorrowful for Suzanne, and she found peace in the prospect of a joyful reunion with her son in heaven. Suzanne leaves behind many loving and thoughtful friends, all of which she loved greatly. She is survived by her grandchildren Jaycee and Brodie Stearman.

May she find rest and peace in the company of loved ones and angels.
