July 23, 2025
Birthplace: Austin, Texas
Resided In: Bastrop, Texas

On July 23, 2025, an incredible woman passed away. Shirley Adele Davis. She was born in Austin, TX, on November 21, 1935, to Jesse Athene McGirk and Dr. Milo Weaver. Shirley was a world traveler who loved to read and paint. A master gardener who was also an excellent cook, who loved to entertain. She was a devoted mother, companion, social worker, and counselor who cared deeply for the well-being of others. She gave freely of herself unselfishly, never asking for anything in return. Her greatest gift is that wherever she went or who she was with, it was always magical. She will be greatly missed, always loved, and cherished.

She leaves behind her children, Keith Davis (Rick Newlin), JoAnne Davis, and Connie Young (Jamey). Grandchildren Dallas, Dustun, Cheyenna, and greatgrandchildren Devan and Luke. She also leaves behind her brother Bill Weaver (Joy), Gary Weaver (Janice), Mike Weaver (deceased), sister Sharon Garrison, and many family members and friends.

She was welcomed into heaven by her late husband of 63 years, Alfred “Tuffy” Davis, and many of her family and friends.

The family would like to thank the staff at Argent Court Bastrop and Accent Hospice for their love and true devotion to care.

In place of flowers, Shirley would hope that you will perform an unexpected and an unsolicited act of kindness for someone in need in her name or make a donation to a charity of your choice.

A memorial service will be held August 30, 2025, at All Saints’ Episcopal Church located at 209 W. 27th Street, Austin, Texas, at 11:00 a.m. Reception to follow in the parish hall. Please join us in remembering and celebrating the life of a remarkable woman
