Paul Scott McKinney was born on June 24, 1944, to Ross Peron and Margaret Rebecca (Becky) Traweek McKinney. His family owned a farm near Lake Victor, Texas. His father was a pilot in training at Brownwood, Texas. He has three siblings, Michael David (w LyndaSue), Patricia, and Linda Catherine McKinney Morgan Moore, Several nieces, nephews, and grands.

Paul was preceded in death by both Parents, Sister Linda, SIL Emily Sloan McKinney, Niece Catherine Marie McKinney,and Cousin Gary Doane.

After his Father retired from active duty in the USAF, the family settled in Austin, Texas, where Paul went to Lamar Junior High, and McCallum High School, where he played Clarinet in the Marching Band and Violin in the Orchestra, after Graduation, Paul joined the USN, did an initial four year hitch, becoming interested in Photography during a round the World cruise.

When discharged he acquired his first job with 3M Business Products.

Paul relocated to Ft. Worth, Texas, where he met and married his wife of Fifty Five years, Carol Ann Cowell McKinney. Together they have a Son, Christopher Allan McKinney, and a Granddaughter, Samantha Starr Travers.

It was during this time that Paul joined Masonic Lodge #12 in Austin.

A decision was made to rejoin the USN, where Paul completed several tours of duty in Great Lakes, Illinois, Alameda, and San Diego, California. He served on the USS Bache, USS Decatur, both DDs, and the USS Kansas City, while in the USN Paul completed his Bachelor of Science Degree in Computer Science at Chapman University, Orange, California.

After leaving active duty, Paul remained in the Navy Reserve, eventually doing a total of 31 years, before retiring in 1994.

Paul went on to a second career as a Computer Programmer with Verac, Tracor, Ball Corporation Space & Science, Raytheon, and Boeing Corporation, retiring a Second time in 2009. During these years he became active in Masonic Lodge work as a Coach, and Master of Normal Heights, he served as Secretary of Black Mountain, Both in California.  He also volunteered as a Poll Worker, and Census Taker.

Paul returned to Texas, Settling in Round Rock where he perused several interests, Site Manager for The VITA program, he became interested in photography again, and did Audio/Visual work for several Nonprofits.
