Mark Newell Ferguson of Smithville, Texas passed on July 22, 2020. Mark was born in Houston, Texas on December 31, 1952. He was the son of Andrew Jackson Ferguson, Jr. (A.J.), and Hazel Merlene Jackson. He graduated from MacArthur High School in Houston. After service in the Army, he later graduated from Southwest Texas State (Texas State University).
Mark taught school a few years with special needs kids, but mainly worked construction and security jobs. He worked at helping others and enjoyed singing. His main passion was preaching the “good news”, around the Austin area, and wherever he might find himself.
He was preceded in death by his parents, and brother Jeffery Clinton Ferguson of San Pedro, California, He is survived by his brother Steven Andrew Ferguson, sister Debra Odaye Roberts and brother Robert L. Ferguson.
