Maria lived a colorful life full of family and friends, there wasn’t a call or a text she didn’t return. She loved with her whole heart and anyone that met her can attest… That woman’s heart was made of pure gold. In addition to her heart, Maria was a true artist. Whether it was painting, sketching or sewing there was nothing she couldn’t create… or cook! All she needed was an idea and she knew she could make it happen. The art and recipes she left behind will be cherished for generations to come.
Maria was known as “Memaw” to her grandchildren whom were the apples of her eye. She took care of each one during the work day from the time they were 6 weeks until they were ready to start school to make sure she got to experience each first in their lives. To her family she was “Mom” “Tia Betty” “Betty” and no matter how hard life was, through any and every trial and tribulation, made sure she helped in every single way she could. Rain or Shine she was there, no mountain too big or too small would stop her from being there for each one of us. To Friends she was known as “East Side Maria” you could find her on any given weekend enjoying life singing Karaoke or hanging out with friends that she never had a shortage of. Maria you are loved now and forever, this world is not the same without you and you will forever be remembered and missed.
A celebration of life service will be announced at a later time due to the current surge of COVID cases.
