Karen Teresa Fontenot Davis went to be with beloved family, friends, and cherished dogs and granddogs on June 4, 2021.
Karen Fontenot married her high-school sweetheart George Michael Davis Jr. on June 11, 1965. On that day Karen and Mike began a beautiful life together. They were young when they married, young when they started having children and continued living a young and happy life.
Karen, better known as Mimi, was the epitome of strength. Her third battle with cancer began in December of 2020 and ended on June 4, 2021. Her strength endured until the end and the battle was not lost but has ended.
Mimi is survived by her best friend and husband Mike Davis, son Damon Davis and wife Kim, daughter Teresa Davis, son Jarred Davis and wife Ida, the light and joy of her life eight grandchildren and ten great grandchildren, two sisters Dorothy Wein and Nelda Hill, one dog Zeus, one granddog Willie, along with many nieces, nephews, family, and dear friends.
Mimi will be dearly, dearly missed by all. Playing cards, eating (especially pancakes), dancing, traveling, and listening to Elvis, Zydeco and Country music will never be the same without her.
A memorial service will be held at The Texas Baptist Children’s Home 1101 North May’s, Round Rock, TX in the Hankamer-Fleming Chapel at 3 pm on Saturday June 12, 2021.
