Evelyn Deveridge, a beloved mother, grandmother, and friend, was born on July 19, 1951, in Goshen, Alabama. She passed away peacefully on January 9, 2026, leaving behind a legacy of compassion, service, and love.
Evelyn earned her Master’s degree in Social Work from the University of Texas, a reflection of her lifelong commitment to helping others. She devoted her professional career to working for the State of Texas, where she served with integrity, empathy, and dedication, positively impacting countless lives through her work.
Outside of her career, Evelyn found great joy in gardening. She had a special talent for nurturing plants and took pride in creating beauty and peace through her garden, which was often a place of comfort and reflection for her and those she loved.
She is survived by her two daughters, Aja and Ashleigh Gore, and four cherished grandchildren, who brought her immense pride and happiness.
Evelyn’s memory will live on in the lives she touched, the family she loved, and the garden she so carefully tended.
