Ceola Palmer, 88 years old, passed quietly away on 8/02/2025. She was born on 09/05/1936, in New Orleans, Louisiana, to the late Lovie Castles and Charles Palmer. She had a full and eventful life. Married seven times, four of which were to the same man, she loved to be held and cherished.

Ceola gave birth to five children, four of whom were boys: Frank Jackque-who preceded her in death, Marquis Jackque-who preceded her in death, Robert Jr. Stansil-who proceeded her in death, and Juan Stansil. Her one and only daughter, Renada Stansil Tyson (with spouse Anthony Tyson) cared for her unto the end.

Ceola worked for and retired from CTA-Chicago Transit Authority, after 25 years of consistent service. CTA offered an early retirement plan with full benefits, enabling her to retire at the early age of 55.

Every morning, her exercise routine consisted of a dance to Mahalia Jackson’s ‘Moving on Up a Little Higher.’ She also spent her time gardening, reading her Bible, participating in church activities and talking on the phone.

She leaves behind children, son-in-law, grandchildren, great grandchildren, great-great grandchildren, siblings, in-laws, cousins, nieces, nephews, friends, & church members.

She adamantly refused to have a funeral but did request to be buried next to her son, Robert Jr., and this request will be honored.

Graveside service will be held 8/16/2025 @ 2 pm at the Oakridge-Glen Oak Cemetery, 4301 W. Roosevelt Rd., Hillside, Il 60162, lot A in section 21-B.
