Birthplace: Magnolia/Brazoria, TX
Resided In: Austin, TX

Aserline “Nina” Williams was born on December 23, 1957, in Magnolia/Brazoria County, Texas. She passed away on Saturday, August 15, 2026, at the age of 68, following a long and courageous journey with Alzheimer’s disease.

Aserline grew up in the Houston area and graduated from Sweeny High School in Sweeny, Texas. Following graduation, she moved to Dallas, Texas, where she lived for several years before eventually making Austin, Texas, her home.

A dedicated and hardworking woman, Aserline spent many years serving others through her work. She was employed with Dillard’s from 1994 to 2011 and later joined H-E-B, where she worked from 2012 until 2021.

As a single mother, Aserline devoted her life to raising her two children, Letecia and Preston. She became a mother at a young age, and in many ways, the three of them grew up together. It was always the three of them. Through every season of life, Aserline was a loving, fiercely protective, and devoted mother who loved her children immensely.

Aserline and her daughter, Letecia, shared an especially close bond that blossomed into a lifelong friendship. More than mother and daughter, they were best friends. They loved traveling, shopping, watching movies, spending time together, and most of all, laughing.

Aserline treasured spending time with her family, especially during family gatherings. She loved music and dancing and delighted in the joy that laughter brought to those around her. Her joyful spirit, sense of style, and deep love for her family created countless beautiful memories that will forever remain in the hearts of those who knew and loved her.

A devoted mother and grandmother, Aserline leaves to cherish her memory her daughter, Letecia Formby, and son-in-law, Michael Formby; her son, Preston Reed; and her two beloved granddaughters, Amara and Allure Formby.

She is also survived by her sisters, Myrtle “Tootie” McZeal (Michael), Shirley Williams, Fannie Mae Williams, Linda Hagger, and Lucile King (Gilbert, deceased); and her brothers, Phillip Williams (Debra) and Lonnie Williams Jr.

Aserline is also lovingly remembered by her nieces, nephews, great-nieces, great-nephews, extended family members, and dear friends.

She also leaves cherished memories with her former husbands, Kenneth Reed and Hershel Pleasant, both of whom remained dear friends throughout her life.

She was preceded in death by her father, Lonnie Williams Sr.; her mother, Gertrude Williams; and her brother, Lonnie Van Williams.

Aserline’s memory will live on through the love, laughter, and beautiful moments she shared with her family and friends. Her joyful spirit, her love of music and dancing, and the happiness she brought to family gatherings will forever be remembered. Though she will be deeply missed, the love she gave so freely will remain in the hearts of those who were blessed to know and love her.
