May 13, 2025

Alan Dennis Wilson, born on January 31, 1948, passed away peacefully on May 13, 2025, in his home, surrounded by the love of his daughter and grandchildren.

He loved life and lived it to the fullest. Always happy, outgoing, and caring, he had a way of lighting up every room he walked into. He was the life of the party—always ready with a joke, a dance, or a story to share. His warmth and energy made people feel welcome and loved wherever he went.

He was a man of many passions—he enjoyed painting canvases, dancing, grilling, fishing, and soaking up the sun at the beach. His adventurous spirit led him into a career as a truck driver and later a tour bus driver, which allowed him to travel and explore the world. He shared countless stories from his adventures and embraced every opportunity life offered. He was also a devout Christian and leaned on his faith throughout his life.

He is survived by his loving daughter Lisa L. Castillo-Monjaras and her husband Mario Monjaras of Beeville, TX, and his son Jeremy Monk of Dallas, TX. He also leaves behind stepdaughters Stephanie “Bree” Nicks of Sachse, TX, and Deserey Garcia of Florida, and stepson Thomas Garcia of Ware, MA—children he raised and loved as his own.

He is also survived by his cherished siblings: sisters Kathleen Haney of Holyoke, MA, and Donna Miller of Chicopee, MA; brothers Michael Hotte (wife Denise) and Randy Hotte (wife Evelyn), both of Chicopee, MA; Daniel Cullen of Cynthiana, KY; George Cullen of Louisville, KY; and Michael Cullen of Huntington, MA.

His legacy continues through his beloved grandchildren: Angel R. Sanchez (wife Gabriella) of Cuero, TX; Jacob A. Castillo, Julian D. Castillo (wife Valerie), Alisabeth L. Castillo, and Maya L. Castillo, all of Beeville, TX; and Kristina L. Sanchez (husband Toby) of Springdale, AR. He was also blessed with multiple great-grandchildren and many nieces and nephews whom he loved dearly.

He was preceded in death by his father Dennis Hotte Sr. of Belchertown, MA; his mother Gloria Cullen (maiden name Bingle) of Holyoke, MA; his sister Lisa Hotte of Chicopee, MA; and his brothers Dennis Hotte of Chicopee, MA, and Patrick Cullen of Holyoke, MA.

In addition to his family, he is lovingly remembered by his lifelong friend Naomi Garcia, the mother of Deserey and Thomas. Their bond was one of deep love, respect, and enduring connection.

In honor of his wishes, there will be no traditional funeral. Instead, a celebration of his life will be held at a later date. He will be cremated, as he requested.

His memory will live on in the hearts of all who loved him.
