Halcyon Home was created to bring the most exceptional care to your home and your loved ones. Halcyon was the Greek god who calmed the seas in order to allow the mystical beautiful kingfisher bird to lay its eggs, and that time of year was referred to as the halcyon time of year. We hope to create a peaceful, idyllic setting for you even in the hardest or most stressful of times, in order to allow you to enjoy your life to its fullest.
As the first hospice in Central Texas, we have end-of-life care expertise that only decades of experience can teach. And as Austin’s only nonprofit hospice, we provide care to any person who needs us, regardless of age, diagnosis, or ability to pay. All of our resources go toward services that benefit each patient and family, not to owners or investors.
Suncrest’s Hospice services are available to any person with a life-limiting illness (defined as a prognosis of 6 months or less). Our hospice services are coordinated by a Registered Nurse. Hospice patients receive skilled nursing care focused on comfort and symptom management. In addition, Certified Nursing Assistants, C.N.As. assist with bathing, dressing, and other activities of daily living to promote patient well-being. Hospice patients and families receive additional support from a Social Worker and Spiritual Care Counselor, as requested. Our hospice nurses managed the patient’s plan of care to address each patient’s individual wishes and goals.
